Hello, I’m Amanda, a self-advocate, a proud Virginian from Williamsburg, and a member of the Training Alumni Association (T.A.A.)—an association of graduates of the Partners in Policymaking program and the Youth Leadership Academy supported by the Virginia Board for People with Disabilities that facilitates grassroots advocacy. I’m a proud graduate of the class of 2020. The class I graduated from this past spring was Va-LEND via Virginia Commonwealth University.
I was born with cerebral palsy as a result of a difficult birth. However, I have decided to wear my C.P. as a “”badge of courage.”” My CP is what is called Mixed Type CP. I have muscle spasms, making it hard to relax. I have no control over my voice tone.
As an author, I have written a free e-booklet called The Church and people with disabilities. My Christian autobiography, CP Gal’s World: Flying with My Disability, is being written by myself and Cyndi Anderson. This is my Christian perspective on living with cerebral palsy. I have created two flyers on “”How to welcome a Disabled Adult in Church.”” and “”Email Template for Disabled Adults to email a Church to Join. You can easily download it off of my website linktr.ee/cpgalsworld.

How to Welcome a Disabled Adult in a Church

I would like to share my story of coming to faith with other disabled people via YouTube videos on my YouTube channel, ‘CP Gal’s World’ — speaking on Zoom or traveling throughout the United States to support disabled people in God’s name. I’m a disabled person who has grown to love God and help other disabled people fly with their disabilities. I have created two flyers on “How to welcome a Disabled Adult in Church.”
