Diane Sturmer
Diane Sturmer has had the honor of working with people with incredible abilities for over 35 years. At Heritage Christian Services, Diane has served with the both the “Faith Community Inclusion Team”, and as “Community Bridge Builder”. She led groups to Ireland to serve and has spoken at Ireland’s International conference. She has facilitated outdoor retreats in the Adirondacks, is the Artistic Director of “Heart of Dance” an inclusive dance troupe and has published “Two are Better than One”. Diane believes that each person has a gift that needs to be shared. She loves her family dearly.
With Not For: Valued Roles in Faith Communities for All
“With, not for” is a concept that includes the deepening of relationships and the sharing of unique gifts in the faith community. When Faith Communities look beyond setting up a ministry “for” people with disabilities and move to ministry “with” people there is unspeakable richness. People grow as they spend time together and learn about God together. The opportunity opens to share gifts in valued roles , and to look outward together to minister to others.
